For your consideration: It was Monday night, April 25th, 1988 and yes, I had been living my life on the edge of faith. I couldn't sleep, I was exhausted and wasn't sure how to move forward. The evil I had feared had arrived Sunday morning and I had a decision to make.

It was: Do I have faith?  For me, yes I was now struggling immensely, but when I answered God's tough question for me – everything changed. I answered 'yes' . . . that I needed our Christian faith. Deciding that altered my years ever since & I have been blessed.

That is the decision that you have to make, if you have not done so already. For when you do, all of your actions are now accountable to your commitment to faith.

Now, with what does that mean, pondering in your mind . . . let me offer this to help it sink in. It starts when we are kids and if you've seen the Disney movie Pinocchio, you are aware of a wise little guy by the name of Jiminy Cricket. It's that small voice that speaks up now and then, warning us of things that we better be careful on. Well, when we become a Christian, we realize that Jiminy Cricket on our shoulder, is actually replaced with the Holy Spirit *inside of us (our counselor helping us to perceive right from wrong). And if we don't change for the better, then we really have not made the faith commitment decision, we're just living within a persona.

So then, with those thoughts above, where do we go from here?

First, you have to determine, have you made a faith decision?

Second, if you have – do you know, understand and embrace what that means?

Third, if you do – then yourself and others should be able to see that you have changed, that you are trying to live your life in pursuit of your faith.

As for me. When I made my faith decision that day, I placed my commitment stake in the ground as to what would guide, comfort and motivate me for the rest of my life. As for you? That is a decision that you need to make.

And yes it is true:

Faith is our moral compass so that we always know the way to go in our thoughts, words and actions.

But that's only true if we embrace our faith.
