O40Ds: #5 Ethics . . .

If you remember back in decision #3 (shared a month or so back), I mentioned our 'moral compass'. My hope with that is that it challenged you to know your morals and to follow them. But now, I'm asking you to make your decision on the ethics that you embrace.

So then, what is the difference between them?

Well the dictionary states . . .

1st, Morals: a lesson(s), especially one concerning what is right or prudent, that can be derived from a story, a piece of information, or an experience.

2nd, Ethics: a set of moral principles, especially ones relating to or affirming a specified group, field, or form of conduct.

Now, in knowing that, I ask all to take a few moments and to review the ethics that you embrace. Why? In my opinion we have too many of our elected officials that come up way too short in the ethics embrace actions. But that is them and you are you.

For me, it is critical because if I don't try to have principles, morals, ethics – why would or how could anyone really trust me? Therefore, think about this and then decide if you are on track with this as you desire, or if you think some added focus is needed. And know this. If you are doing well on this – thank you very much. If you see where a bit more is needed and you work to address that – your loved ones, your friends and yourself will be glad that you did.

Last but not least – don't think of this as a one & done. Don't think you have ethics.
