Welcome to Our 40 Decisions (O40Ds) which is basically why we are here at the beginning of this list of 40 decisions (as in - if there was a list of critical decisions that you should make - do you know how you would decide? Well, this series shares some good decisions for you to ponder & to decide). And it starts with: When is it best to pursue action (aka 'to do or not to do')? The answer is: Now.
Which reminds me of Andy Andrews' story about the decision that Civil War Colonel Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain made that would become one of the most critical decisions during the Battle at Gettysburg. Which was . . . to do something rather then nothing.
Now, you can go read or listen to Andy as he put that day and the events that unfolded into awareness & consideration. It is a great reminder that we all can get caught up in the most difficult of situations. For many in those times, it is easy to get caught up in the 'what should I do?' As for me, it helped to remind me that our actions matter.

Doing something is usually required. Doing what is honorable is often hard but critical.
And in some situations, thinking is best, followed by saying or doing nothing aka restraint, is needed. But in other times, saying something or doing something is needed, especially when something wrong or evil is unfolding
(remember the words . . . 'all it takes for evil to prevail is for good people to do nothing').
So then. One of the decisions you have to make, is one that you need to do often – it it could even be daily. That is the what action do I need to do for this issue, challenge and or evil that is unfolding? Can I do something to solve it, to help it or possibly to end it? And if I don't, will it be better or worse?

And last of all, I know what you are thinking: the 'what about this, or that . . . ' and it doesn't matter the nuance, the all require you, me, everyone to think as needed, to decide what is required and then to do what you should. If you do so to the best of your abilities – then you will have no regrets. But if what you do, goes wrong or poorly, then there is a lesson to be learned and do so. And yes, there is probably something I'm forgetting to add
that would help – and that is why this blank space is here. Fill it in as you deem best.
But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve . . . but as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”
Joshua 24:15
