The Wisdom of Being Smart . . .

In life we find it is easier to be emotional then to be intelligent (aka Being Smart).

But, just because something is easier, doesn't mean it is right and often, it is wrong. Hence, the pursuit of wisdom is a life long endeavor that we should never cease.

So, why this and why now? We are seeing more and more examples of intelligent men and women, who – sad to say, are falling short in what they say and do. Which brings the magnifying glass upon each of us. Are they perfect, as well as ourselves? No . . . but that doesn't mean we all should not step up and do better.

Being smart is not a simple 'think this way' and achieve. It is a unique challenge for us all. So please consider the following and see if you can at least join the group of us who is trying to be smarter and also accountable for what we say and do. Easy? No, but that just mean that those of us who care, will step up as best we can.

And that means no excuses because of our age or our circumstances. For everyone is challenged in many ways throughout their life. Those who are honorable, find a way to do the right thing and don't have to apologize later. But . . . if you do miss-step, apologizing and in changing your behavior in moving forward, at least shows that you are trying to learn and grow.

And remember these words from Proverbs 3:7 . . .

“Don't be wise in your own eyes;

fear the Lord and shun evil.”
