I know that you know - all the advertisements we see on TV or via social media . . .

want us to buy this or that so that we can be thinner, prettier, stronger, or whatever. But you know what, it is all hype on becoming what the world sees as desired and for them it is just money in their pocket. So then what is the message?
We've got to decide if we are going to listen to others, or to decide for ourselves; what we should do or not do, what we should think or not. And as you think about this, know that it is okay for us to ponder what we see and hear but we must remember that if we are not happy with ourselves, there is a good chance that someone or something may influence us in ways we may later regret.
You need to be you and I need to be me. And for us all, being the best version of ourselves is something to be proud of. So, avoid the fads and focus on the good (how is my faith, my family, my finances, my fitness, my friends, etc. etc?). It is to be a person of honor, of being one who others like to be around and who is appreciated, that makes for a happy life. Which keeps the regrets to a minimum.
Proverbs 16:20 “Those who heed the Word wisely will find good,
and whoever trusts in the LORD, happy are they.”
