Victims remembered?

Wouldn't it be great if we paused - as a nation - and remembered all the victims?

I started thinking about this last year when I saw that we don't have any type of a holiday in August. And as I thought about this, I thought of all the victims (of abuse, of crimes) that have horrible things happen to them and yet only a few are aware of what they have had to deal with and recover from.

So . . . I'm thinking in mid August (either the 3rd Sunday or the 4th) . . . wouldn't it be great if we all made a little time to pause, possibly pray and think about the victims and their challenges. For when we do, we may be a little more careful on what we say and do, watching for or reaching out in some way to help the victims of the sad things done to them. This is a thought, what say you (any comments)?
